Production Associate - Genomics

Location: Onsite in the Emeryville, California office and laboratory. Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm.

What you will do

• Perform high-throughput DNA extraction using established workflows and automated liquid handling systems.
• Conduct DNA quality control using laboratory instruments to ensure samples meet production standards.
• Operate and routinely maintain equipment used for DNA extraction and next-generation sequencing workflows.
• Maintain production records, laboratory documentation, sample tracking, and a clean and safe laboratory environment.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment issues, escalate problems when appropriate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
• 1-2 years of laboratory experience with pipettes, centrifuges, automated liquid handling systems, or similar instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, documentation, verbal communication, and ability to follow written SOPs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Availability to work onsite in Emeryville, California.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment or with high-throughput DNA extraction workflows.
• Experience operating automated liquid handling platforms or using Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Experience improving SOPs, quality control frameworks, or laboratory workflows.
• Experience in AgTech, environmental testing, commercial laboratories, or startup environments.
