AVP, Actuary - Group Benefits and Pet

Location: Columbus, Ohio, One hirify.global Plaza; the position may be filled within any of the lower 48 U.S. states.

Salary: $154,000–$290,000 national range; expected starting range of $154,000–$258,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead pricing strategy and rate plan direction for Group Health, hirify.global Pet, and Specialty Insurance.
• Oversee rate indications, pricing models, segmentation analyses, and profitability studies.
• Monitor portfolio performance, post-launch risk, returns, and product lifecycle results.
• Partner with business, finance, underwriting, actuarial, analytics, and technology leaders to turn insights into actions.
• Advise senior leadership on growth, profitability, risk, capital, governance, and major pricing or product decisions.
• Lead recruiting, performance management, and talent development for a pricing organization with 4–6 direct and approximately 45 indirect reports.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience in pricing, actuarial work, product, or advanced analytics, including management experience.
• Undergraduate studies in actuarial science, advanced analytics, business, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience implementing advanced modeling and foundational knowledge of modern technology and actuarial tools.
• Strong communication skills for defending business cases and presenting executive-level recommendations.
• Ability to explain actuarial and analytical concepts clearly and develop strong talent.
• FSA and MAAA designations are preferred; a graduate degree is preferred.
