AVP Underwriter-Primary/Excess Casualty

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remotely

Salary: $152,000–$225,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop and manage profitable books of middle- to large-market E&S primary and excess casualty business.
• Underwrite new and renewal accounts across General Liability and Commercial Automobile lines.
• Implement regional growth plans and build hirify.global brand awareness.
• Set pricing and risk selection standards aligned with strategic and financial goals.
• Build relationships with wholesale brokers and coach business partners.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and IT teams while monitoring market and competitor trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant wholesale casualty underwriting experience.
• Expertise in General Liability and Commercial Automobile insurance.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, relationship-building, sales, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to assess risk exposures and natural hazards while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
