Sr. Engineer, SDET - AI Detection and Response (AIDR)

Location: Hybrid in Sunnyvale, California, USA

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Design and implement contract-testing frameworks for APIs and service boundaries.
• Develop comprehensive testing strategies across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end layers.
• Establish testing patterns for AI-powered detection capabilities and model efficacy.
• Build end-to-end scenarios for multi-collector deployments and policy-enforcement workflows.
• Implement quality telemetry, reporting, metrics dashboards, and alerting.
• Collaborate with SRE and development teams on playbooks and support documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of combined software development and test automation experience.
• Experience establishing quality frameworks and scalable test coverage for enterprise cloud SaaS products.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in Python, Go, and JavaScript, with strong debugging skills.
• Experience with cloud architectures, microservices, REST, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, PostgreSQL or Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter, Gatling, New Relic, Datadog, and Prometheus/Grafana.

Nice to have

• Experience testing AI/ML systems, LLM applications, AI efficacy, adversarial testing, or red teaming.
• Experience with browser extension testing, API gateways, Model Context Protocol, or agentic AI systems.
• Experience with large-scale SaaS performance testing and scaling test infrastructure for hundreds of engineers.
