Forecast Analyst Demand Planning

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California; only candidates currently residing in the San Francisco Bay Area will be considered.

Salary: $143,000–$169,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, improve, and operationalize statistical forecasting methodologies for demand planning.
• Build baseline forecasts using historical demand, seasonality, promotions, product transitions, channel mix, and other business drivers.
• Evaluate forecast accuracy, bias, and error diagnostics, turning findings into improvement recommendations.
• Integrate shipments, point-of-sale data, inventory, promotions, and product lifecycle inputs across planning workflows.
• Build scenario models, dashboards, and analytical tools for demand risk, upside, downside, and operational planning.
• Partner with Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Data, Finance, and Systems teams to improve planning infrastructure and decision-making.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in forecasting, demand planning, analytics, data science, operations research, or a related field.
• Strong experience applying statistical forecasting methods in a business environment.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python, R, or a similar analytical programming language.
• Experience working with large, messy datasets and improving data quality, structure, and analytical reliability.
• Experience developing forecasting models, evaluating performance, and using diagnostics to improve outcomes.
• Understanding of planning and operational processes, ideally in consumer products, hardware, retail, or supply chain environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning for time-series forecasting or demand sensing.
• Familiarity with planning platforms, BI tools, and modern data environments.
• Background in consumer electronics, wearables, premium hardware, or subscription-adjacent businesses.
• Experience with causal modeling, experimentation, or advanced scenario planning.
