Security Specialist (Data Security)

Location: EMEA (location flexible); remote-friendly work environment.

What you will do

• Act as the security overlay for EMEA opportunities, supporting security, privacy, compliance, deployment model, and BYOC discussions.
• Lead technical conversations with CISOs, security architects, and GRC teams.
• Design and validate secure ClickHouse Cloud and BYOC deployment patterns covering network isolation, private connectivity, encryption, customer-managed keys, identity federation, and granular access control.
• Run threat modelling and architecture reviews, owning the security workstream through proof of concept and production readiness.
• Advise on SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, EU data residency, HIPAA, PCI DSS, DORA, and NIS2.
• Improve security questionnaires, RFP security sections, DPIAs, and third-party risk reviews while building the EMEA Solutions Architecture security playbook.

Requirements

• Significant customer-facing technical experience at a data platform, analytics, streaming, or database company.
• Deep cloud and data security expertise, including IAM, key management, cryptography, network isolation, secure multi-tenancy, threat modelling, and audit.
• Working knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and EU regulatory requirements.
• Ability to communicate credibly with CISOs and security buyers.
• Strong writing skills and experience working as an overlay across a region.
• Ability to work from the EMEA region.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, or CISM certification.
• Security architecture experience across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Experience in financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, or the public sector.
