Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Livingston, UK; hybrid working with two days in the office per week. Appropriate right to work in the UK is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Produce, review, and assure solution and technical designs for services, platforms, and applications.
• Identify security risks, weaknesses, and architectural gaps, and address them with approved security patterns, standards, and principles.
• Ensure technology integrations are fit for purpose, resilient, and aligned with security and regulatory requirements.
• Assess emerging technologies and security threats, providing guidance on secure adoption and business value.
• Document risk assessments, architectural decisions, assumptions, and trade-offs to support informed decisions.
• Define and maintain security architecture standards, patterns, blueprints, and reference architectures.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience conducting architecture risk assessments and creating business cases.
• Practical experience developing or applying security architecture patterns, standards, and reference architectures.
• Experience supporting regulatory requirements such as NIS2, PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud security architectures across Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
• Appropriate right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not offered.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent qualifications.
