Finance Systems Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid policy requiring staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time

What you will do

• Administer and support the Pigment financial planning platform, including system health, configurations, user access, security, and version management.
• Design and maintain financial models, workflows, applications, and reporting capabilities for budgeting, forecasting, financial close, and business intelligence.
• Build secure REST API integrations and dataflows connecting FP&A platforms with systems such as Workday Financials, Salesforce CRM, and the data warehouse.
• Develop SQL-based data models, ETL pipelines, validation rules, and quality checks while resolving financial data discrepancies.
• Partner with FP&A, Accounting, Finance, and Strategy stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and improve finance processes.
• Support monthly forecasting, annual and long-range planning, workforce planning, OPEX forecasting, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, and user onboarding.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with FP&A systems, EPM platforms, finance data warehouses, financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.
• Hands-on administration and development experience with Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, or a similar enterprise planning platform.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling skills, including system integrations and data pipelines.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and system designs.
• Strong understanding of FP&A processes, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and relevant experience.

Nice to have

• CFA experience combined with hands-on development skills.
• Experience with shared production codebases, dbt, BigQuery, or comparable analytics engineering tools.
• Experience building finance applications with LLMs and knowledge of Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with pre-IPO companies, rapid growth, financial data security, compliance, or planning-platform certifications.
• Project management experience leading system implementation workstreams.
