What you will do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace modeling, simulation, mission analysis, and data visualization.
- Enhance high-fidelity physics-based simulators for space, airborne, and ISR sensor systems.
- Build scripts, applications, APIs, and data pipelines for scenario generation, simulation execution, post-processing, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop modular architectures, reusable components, and integrations with engineering and modeling tools.
- Create efficient workflows for processing and visualizing large simulation datasets.
- Debug, verify, validate, and improve the performance, usability, automation, and maintainability of simulation tools.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active or current TS/SCI clearance are mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience developing software, scripts, tools, or applications for engineering, modeling and simulation, data analysis, or mission analysis.
- Programming experience with Python, C++, Java, C#, MATLAB, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with aerospace or space systems, airborne systems, ISR missions, sensors, mission analysis, or simulation environments.
- Willingness to work on-site in Herndon, Virginia.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience developing or modifying modeling and simulation software, engineering analysis tools, mission analysis applications, or simulator frameworks.
- Experience with modular architectures, reusable components, APIs, or plugin-based capabilities.
- Knowledge of satellites, aircraft, ISR sensors, astrodynamics, remote sensing, aerospace operations, or complex systems integration.
- Experience with numerical methods, statistical analysis, automated reporting, or Python scientific libraries such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, or Plotly.
