Location: USA, WA, Seattle, or USA, CA, East Palo Alto

Salary: $142,800–$193,200 annually in Seattle; $171,600–$222,200 annually in East Palo Alto. Compensation also includes sign-on payments and RSUs.

What you will do

• Develop and implement advanced visual reasoning systems for complex spatial relationships and object interactions in real time.
• Design autonomous AI agents that make decisions from visual inputs and adapt to dynamic retail environments.
• Build systems for scene understanding, object permanence reasoning, and customer-intention prediction.
• Apply computer vision, machine learning, sensor fusion, and distributed systems to checkout-free shopping.
• Solve novel technical challenges and collaborate with multiple technical teams across hirify.global.
• Mentor other scientists and contribute to an entrepreneurial, highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
• PhD, or a master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in computer science, computer engineering, machine learning, or a related field.
• Experience with patents or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
• Experience with algorithms and data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing.
• Experience in visual reasoning, generative AI, transformers, multimodal models, video analysis, object detection and tracking, 3D geometry, SLAM, or time-series analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unix/Linux and professional software development.
• Experience designing visual reasoning systems for complex spatial relationships.
• Experience with AI agent architecture, decision-making frameworks, and behavioral modeling.
• Knowledge of scene graph generation, visual relationship detection, spatial reasoning, visual-language models, and multimodal AI systems.
• Experience implementing reinforcement learning for autonomous agent behavior.
