Infrastructure & Capital Projects - Project Director (Power Generation)

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, United States; onsite at the client site

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Serve as the single point of accountability for a utility-scale multi-unit CCGT project from development through commissioning, turnover, and commercial operation.
• Establish and lead an integrated organization spanning engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
• Direct development activities, including site development, permitting strategy, commercial structuring, execution planning, preliminary engineering, and OEM engagement.
• Define contracting strategy and lead contractor sourcing, negotiations, contract management, and claims avoidance or resolution.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, performance testing, and installation of gas turbines, HRSGs, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Lead project governance, executive reporting, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, and development of high-performing project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of large-scale capital project delivery experience in power generation or process industries.
• Experience leading the full lifecycle delivery of at least one CCGT power plant, with deep knowledge of gas turbines, HRSGs, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Experience delivering projects for a regulated utility, independent power producer, or EPC contractor, including projects exceeding $500 million in total installed cost.
• Leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams across engineering, permitting, construction, commissioning, and technology or Gen AI enablement.
• Expertise in EPC, EPCM, or multi-prime delivery models and in cost management, scheduling, risk management, and other project controls.

Nice to have

• Experience as an Owner’s Representative or in an EPCM delivery model.
• Experience supporting regulatory approvals such as CPCN or equivalent.
• PMP, PgMP, or AACEi certifications, including CCP or PSP.
• Experience implementing Project Delivery Systems and Stage Gate governance.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Maximo, Procore, and advanced analytics or AI tools.
