Senior DataOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote from Portugal

Salary: €3,571–€4,100 gross per month, including fixed and variable compensation, meal allowance, remote work allowance, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Develop and optimize data models, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
• Build and automate CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and deployments.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, data quality, lineage, governance, and security controls.
• Manage infrastructure as code and optimize pipeline and query performance across environments.
• Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis while collaborating with analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with strong DevOps or platform engineering exposure.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills, including dimensional, normalized, and lakehouse models.
• Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of Scala, Java, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with Airflow, dbt, Spark or Flink, streaming architectures, and data warehouse platforms such as Redshift or Snowflake.
• Advanced AWS experience with services including Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, S3, Lambda, and Kinesis.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability tools such as Grafana and CloudWatch, and data governance and security.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, Atlassian APIs, and Slack bots.
• Knowledge of multi-cloud and data warehouse cost optimization.
