DevOps Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

DevOps Engineer (AWS): Managing and automating AWS infrastructure for large-scale RDS and Aurora database environments with an accent on Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, security, and operational tooling. Location: Remote from Portugal; no daily office travel is required.

What you will do

• Act as the escalation point for Terraform, CI/CD pipeline, and infrastructure process failures.
• Build and maintain Terraform configurations and GitLab/Harness pipelines for AWS RDS and Aurora infrastructure.
• Maintain tooling for database user and schema management and keep it integrated with managed databases.
• Automate recurring operational tasks using Python or Go.
• Apply AWS security controls across managed environments, including IAM, KMS, security groups, and network ACLs.
• Improve incident-response routing, documentation, runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements

• Production experience with AWS and Terraform.
• Experience provisioning AWS infrastructure through GitLab, GitHub, Harness, or an equivalent CI/CD platform.
• Infrastructure-level familiarity with RDS/Aurora backup and restore, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Strong understanding of AWS security, compliance, and networking, including VPCs, subnets, and Transit Gateways.
• Experience automating operational tasks with Python or Go.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and pipeline failures independently and communicate clearly under pressure.

Nice to have

• Docker, Vault, ProxySQL, and relational database experience such as MySQL.
