Client Monitoring Specialist (Fintech)

Location: Flexible hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week in the Toronto or Edmonton office

Salary: 55,000–70,000 CAD per year, with potential eligibility for a variable bonus

What you will do

• Review transaction monitoring alerts and identify unusual or suspicious activity.
• Review and resolve PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening alerts.
• Review and action alerts related to corporate structure changes.
• Document monitoring outcomes accurately and completely.
• Escalate potential financial crime risks and suspicious findings for further review.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistent, compliant, and customer-focused reviews.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in AML, KYC, or financial operations within financial services or fintech.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, accuracy, and clarity.
• Analytical and logical thinking, sound judgement, pattern recognition, and attention to detail.
• Efficiency, organisation, customer-first orientation, and effective team collaboration.
• Ability to work in the hybrid model from the Toronto or Edmonton office 1–2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Exposure to transaction monitoring, sanctions, or screening processes.
• Experience using case management or alert-handling tools.
