Lead Software Engineer in Test (Python/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Define the long-term quality and automated testing strategy, including frameworks, tooling, coverage, and quality gates.
• Design and implement maintainable automation across integration, UI, end-to-end, and REST API testing layers.
• Plan test coverage with product squads and automate critical functionality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Own test pipeline health, speed, and reliability while reducing flaky tests and improving feedback loops.
• Build scalable test environments with Infrastructure and optimize CI/CD stages to improve deployment velocity.
• Lead root-cause analysis, promote testability principles, and mentor engineers in automation and quality practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in test automation or software engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead test engineering role.
• Experience architecting or maintaining large-scale automation frameworks for backend, frontend, and asynchronous systems.
• Fluency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript, with experience using Playwright, Cypress, pytest, or REST API testing frameworks.
• Experience testing modern stacks including FastAPI, Vue.js, and event-driven systems such as Inngest.
• Experience with CI/CD, Turborepo, Docker, Vercel, AWS EKS, Kubernetes, AWS, RDS PostgreSQL, and distributed systems.
• Ability to turn product requirements into executable test strategies and collaborate with Product, Backend, Frontend, and DevOps teams.
