Software Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: On-site at the Sunnyvale office, United States

Base salary: $170,000–$196,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, performance, scalability, and regression test strategies for the CloudSecure platform.
• Build and maintain scalable API, UI, and end-to-end automation frameworks for distributed cloud services.
• Validate resource discovery, policy computation, flow ingestion, visualization, compliance, and cross-module integrations across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Test enterprise-scale environments with thousands of workloads, hundreds of VPCs/VNETs, millions of flow records, and large policy and inventory datasets.
• Run chaos engineering experiments covering database failovers, Kafka failures, network partitions, cloud API throttling, pod failures, and out-of-memory scenarios.
• Own defect triage, root cause analysis, CI/CD quality gates, release readiness, and tooling for self-service test environments and test data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• 3+ years of experience building automation for SaaS or cloud-native distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, JavaScript, or a similar language.
• Hands-on experience with Cypress, Playwright, Pytest, or equivalent automation frameworks, including API, UI, and microservices testing.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including VPCs, VNets, security groups, firewalls, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, distributed systems, REST APIs, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and application debugging.

Nice to have

• Experience with k6, Locust, JMeter, Gatling, or other performance and load-testing tools.
• Experience profiling distributed applications and identifying performance bottlenecks.
• Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Litmus, Gremlin, or Chaos Monkey.
• Experience with Docker, Terraform, network security, segmentation, firewall policies, and cloud networking.
• Experience testing enterprise-scale multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
