Software Engineer (New Grad December 2026)

Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site); facility located in Hawthorne, California. Relocation assistance is provided.

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 annually, depending on academic level and demonstrated out-of-classroom experience, plus stock options.

What you will do

• Architect and develop software for a production-scale autonomous metal 3D printing factory.
• Integrate control algorithms into production software in collaboration with process, control, and mechanical engineers.
• Improve and scale high-rate data acquisition, storage, and retrieval systems.
• Develop geometry processing pipelines that convert customer part geometries into machine print instructions.
• Build software systems that improve factory performance, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
• Internship or engineering club experience involving programming with C or C++, such as robotics, FSAE, Baja SAE, solar car, rocket clubs, hackathons, or similar activities.
• Ability to work on-site in the Los Angeles/Hawthorne, California area.
• Collaborative, proactive approach to solving complex technical problems across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in computer science or computer engineering.
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGA, GPU computing hardware, embedded or real-time software, Linux, or RTOS environments.
• Experience developing software for industrial automation, robotics, rockets, spacecraft, or other hardware interacting with the physical world.
• Evidence of academic excellence, engineering leadership, resilience, or achievement against adversity.
