Location: Hawthorne, California; full-time onsite presence five days a week

Salary: $95,000–$110,000 per year, depending on academic level and demonstrated experience

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable manufacturing processes for new hardware and metal 3D-printed parts.
• Improve fixturing, test procedures, post-processing steps, and part flow through the factory.
• Build and iterate on tooling, jigs, and test setups for reliable, high-throughput production.
• Identify bottlenecks in the movement of parts, materials, and data, and improve factory workflows with cross-functional teams.
• Develop process documentation and standards that support production scaling and rapid engineering iteration.
• Contribute to CNC machining workflows, including programming, setup, and optimization of multi-axis post-processing operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
• Hands-on manufacturing or build experience through internships, engineering clubs, or similar activities.
• Experience working with hand tools, machinery, or complex hardware assembly.
• Willingness to work onsite in Hawthorne five days per week, with very limited exceptions.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with CNC machining, including 3- or 5-axis programming and setup.
• Experience with metal additive manufacturing, precision post-processing, fixturing, DFM, or process validation.
• Experience scaling early-stage R&D into production and familiarity with MRP/ERP or production tracking systems.
• Strong cross-disciplinary communication, ownership, resilience, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
