Associate Data/Metadata Analyst

What you will do

• Manage the lifecycle of bibliographic and holdings data, including ingest, normalization, enrichment, and matching according to standards such as MARC and KBART.
• Profile incoming data and resolve structural issues, encoding errors, tagging discrepancies, and other quality problems.
• Apply existing scripts and automated workflows, identify inefficiencies, and suggest process improvements.
• Use dashboards such as Power BI to monitor data-quality trends and communicate findings.
• Use AI-assisted tools for record matching and field mapping, providing structured feedback to improve model accuracy.
• Document data sources, processing decisions, and technical workflows while supporting senior analysts and platform improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Internship experience in data analysis or the creation of library data.
• Entry-level analytical and communication skills with strong attention to data quality.
• Ability to work under regular supervision in a normal office environment.
• Availability for hybrid work with three days per week on-site in Dublin, Ohio.

Nice to have

• Foundational knowledge of MARC, Dublin Core, KBART, or BIBFRAME.
• Exposure to Python, SQL, or XSLT and data transfer protocols such as SFTP, APIs, or AWS S3.
• Conceptual familiarity with Snowflake, Power BI, or Streamlit.
• Interest in AI, linked data, and Schema.org applications for library data.
