Principal AI Engineer

Location: Worldwide; fully remote, office-based, or hybrid work options are available.

Salary: EUR 2,900–4,850 per month gross. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of AI Engineers.
• Design and deliver AI-powered features for operational, financial, and compliance workflows.
• Automate manual and repetitive processes, including partial automation where full automation is not feasible.
• Build systems that predict answers from historical knowledge bases and forecast costs from historical data.
• Develop chatbot-style task automation to improve efficiency for operations teams and customers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• Experience as a Lead Engineer, Team Lead, or Architect.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, prompt engineering, RAG, and LLM orchestration.
• Knowledge of AI agent design patterns, including reasoning, planning, tool use, and memory management.
• Experience designing, training, and deploying ML models in production with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong Python, data analysis, cloud deployment, SDLC, Agile, Git, and complex dataset analysis skills.
• English: Upper-Intermediate or higher required.

Nice to have

• Java programming experience.
• ML fundamentals, MLOps, model versioning, monitoring, and CI/CD experience.
• Production Python architecture, monorepos, uv, microservices, Gunicorn, and FastAPI.
• Azure infrastructure as code with Bicep and production-grade AI/LLM deployments.
• Cloud-based solution architecture and strong LLM/DevOps experience.
