Junior Java Developer (Hands-on coder)

Salary: $60–$65 per hour

What you will do

• Build rapid prototypes, MVPs, web applications, APIs, and backend services using AI-powered development tools.
• Engineer prompts to optimize AI coding output and manage token usage.
• Prototype features and experimental tools based on team and customer feedback.
• Debug, test, and refine AI-generated code for reliability and usability.
• Experiment with emerging AI development workflows and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Document development processes and share technical learnings.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Boot with microservice architecture.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Python, with experience in Angular, React, Flask, or Express.
• Experience with AI coding assistants such as ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot and prompt engineering.
• Experience maintaining products, fixing bugs, and delivering enhancements.
• Strong debugging, testing, independent coding, REST API, and NoSQL integration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, Next.js, or Django.
• Hackathon, bootcamp, or independent project experience.
• Knowledge of automation, low-code/no-code tools, or creative coding.
