Senior Research Associate (NGS)

What you will do

• Design and execute low- to moderate-complexity experimental workflows for oncology assay development.
• Perform cfDNA extraction, NGS library preparation, PCR-based methods, and other molecular biology procedures using manual and automated platforms.
• Support assay development, verification, and validation studies under design control.
• Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks and accurate records using laboratory databases, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel.
• Analyze experimental data and contribute to study protocols, reports, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Coordinate with internal teams and manage multiple studies and priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field with at least 4 years of laboratory or relevant industry experience, or a master’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on DNA extraction experience from biological samples such as blood, plasma, or tissue, including BSL-1 and BSL-2 experience.
• Experience with nucleic acid purification, quantification, PCR, qPCR, Qubit or Quant-IT, BioAnalyzer, or TapeStation.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities accurately.
• Strong communication, documentation, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with NGS library preparation and Illumina sequencing platforms.
• Experience in an IVD, CLIA, or CAP-regulated environment.
• Experience implementing, optimizing, and troubleshooting high-throughput automated assays using liquid-handling techniques.
• Knowledge of statistical methods for analytical studies.
