Research Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build large evaluations using real tool calling data to identify model weaknesses in long horizon tool execution.
• Work on search problems to find semantically similar tools and cached tool execution paths and plans.
• Train large agentic harness systems to improve session accuracy using millions of real tool calls as baseline data.
• Perform supervised fine-tuning (SFT) on agentic traces and reinforcement learning (RL) on top of agentic harness and app sandboxes.
• Prototype and test experiments rapidly.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to take research ideas to production quickly.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in San Francisco and work on-site
• Ability to independently execute research goals.
• Strong prototyping and experimentation skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Ability to build trust and admit knowledge gaps.
