AI Research Engineer (AI drug design): Designing, training, evaluating, and optimizing core AI models and research infrastructure for therapeutic engineering with an accent on high-performance computing, GPU programming, and scalable data systems. Location: San Francisco office, on-site

What you will do
- Design, train, evaluate, and optimize core AI models and the infrastructure supporting AI research.
- Develop and optimize research infrastructure and tooling.
- Collaborate with AI research scientists to implement and optimize new research directions.
- Integrate AI models into production systems with a focus on scalability and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Deep understanding of operating system internals.
- Experience with HPC infrastructure, including Slurm and Kubernetes.
- Experience with performance engineering and profiling for CPU and GPU workloads.
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale ETL pipelines.
Nice to have
- Background in high-performance computing, custom CUDA kernels, GPU programming, or AI/ML and data systems at scale.
