AI Researcher (On-Device AI)

What you will do

• Lead training for one or more model capabilities, from data mixture and training objectives through evaluation and deployment in an on-device runtime.
• Design experiments and writeups that identify high-leverage research directions and improve team decision-making.
• Own a training workstream with a clear success metric and ship checkpoints that improve relevant evaluations.
• Translate research results into production capabilities with infrastructure and product engineers.
• Advise partnerships on what can be achieved with future device hardware.
• Review research code and help other researchers improve implementation quality.

Requirements

• Experience with model training techniques including distillation, small-scale MoE, speculative decoding, and KV-cache compression.
• Ability to design experiments around meaningful model metrics.
• Interest in on-device model deployment, tool use, and agentic post-training.
• Ability to work in person in San Francisco.
• Top-tier relocation and immigration support is available.
