Senior Software Engineer FS - Backend Focused

Location: Remote; nationwide

Salary: $125,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain enterprise-level, high-availability applications and application code bases.
• Contribute to development strategy and meet scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal oversight.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues, using incidents to improve systems and engineering practices.
• Coordinate integrations with adjacent technical systems, web services, APIs, and data platforms.
• Communicate technical issues and present design documents and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical interviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience developing systems and applications for federal clients.
• Experience with object-oriented design, clean architecture, reusable code, security, and performance.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks and runtimes including React, Angular, and Node.
• Cloud computing experience with Cloud Foundry, Azure, or AWS, plus continuous integration and deployment with tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong database skills, preferably with Oracle or SQL Server, and experience with SQL, XML, and JSON.
• Experience developing or consuming REST, SOAP, and JSON web services, ETL jobs, APIs, and functional, service-oriented architecture, and performance testing.
