Senior Service Designer

Location: UK hybrid. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

Salary: £46,000–£65,000 monthly, subject to location and experience.

What you will do

• Lead service design projects and multidisciplinary teams in creating inclusive, accessible, and effective services.
• Develop end-to-end, evidence-based service designs using user-centred approaches.
• Support and manage service designers, including appraisals and professional development.
• Define and improve collaborative design practices within NEC Digital Studio.
• Support new business development through client opportunities, proposals, and pitches.
• Work with clients and digital specialists, including interaction designers, content designers, developers, and user researchers.

Requirements

• Significant experience delivering service design projects.
• Experience with systems thinking, strategy, service research, user-centred journeys, and organisation design.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, communicate clearly, manage stakeholders, and guide clients toward practical outcomes.
• Experience leading prototyping exercises and designing, building, and testing online and offline prototypes.
• Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity while working proactively and autonomously.
• Knowledge of Government Digital Service principles and experience designing services in line with them; service assessment experience may be relevant.
