Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Contribute end-to-end to product development including UI, backend, deployment, and feedback cycles
• Build intuitive and performant web interfaces for African business owners
• Implement IT security and data protection best practices in a regulated environment
• Drive architectural decisions to improve scalability, observability, and modularity
• Mentor junior engineers and represent engineering in cross-functional discussions
• Identify and automate internal process improvements and handle production incidents confidently

Requirements

• Based in London or Paris
• Strong understanding of web development with Typescript, React, NextJS, NodeJS, Express, PostgreSQL
• Experience in VC-backed or high-growth engineering teams building customer-facing products
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with rapid growth and ambiguity
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Product mindset with empathy and curiosity to solve customer problems

Nice to have

• Fluency in French and English
• Experience in fintech, payments, wallets, or ledger systems
• Expertise in security and data protection for FCA regulated businesses
