Staff Hardware Engineer (Optics)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and debug electrical hardware for optical modules and AI platforms.
• Define hardware requirements and specifications in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Perform hands-on measurements and troubleshooting with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal analyzers.
• Execute hardware verification and validation across different operating conditions.
• Maintain schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, and other design documentation.
• Support manufacturing and assembly throughout the product lifecycle through new product introduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree/PhD with 2–3 years of experience; equivalent professional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, such as Allegro or OrCAD.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment and electrical measurement and testing methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law; an export license review may be required.

Nice to have

• Board-level firmware communication and scripting experience.
• Knowledge of power management, high-speed signal integrity, and power integrity.
• Familiarity with DCI technology standards and protocols.
• Understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations.
