TL;DR
AI/Python Engineer (LLMs/VLMs): Building production Python services and AI systems for structured document extraction with an accent on open-weight vision-language models, fine-tuning, and model serving. Focus on constrained JSON-schema decoding, validating document outputs, optimizing quantized inference, and sizing GPUs against SLA and budget requirements.
Location: Remote from anywhere in the world, or onsite from offices in Kyiv, Lviv, or Warsaw.

What you will do
- Build and maintain production Python services using FastAPI, asynchronous processing, PostgreSQL, queues, and Docker.
- Develop production solutions with large language models and vision-language models.
- Implement structured extraction for scans, PDFs, and forms using JSON-schema outputs, constrained decoding, post-processing, and validation.
- Fine-tune open-weight models with LoRA, QLoRA, and PEFT.
- Deploy and serve models with vLLM, SGLang, or Triton, including quantization, batching, and KV-cache optimization.
- Size GPU infrastructure against service-level objectives and budget constraints.
Requirements
- 4+ years of production Python experience outside notebook-based development.
- 2+ years of production experience with LLMs or VLMs.
- Hands-on experience with open-weight VLMs such as Qwen2.5-VL, Qwen3-VL, InternVL, Llama Vision, or Pixtral, including their strengths and failure modes.
- Experience with FastAPI or async Python, PostgreSQL, Celery, RabbitMQ or SQS, and Docker.
- Practical knowledge of LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT, model serving, quantization, batching, and GPU sizing.
- English at Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher; ability to work independently with ambiguous requirements.
Nice to have
- Classical computer vision, OpenCV, layout detection, PaddleOCR, Tesseract, or YOLO.
- LangGraph, retrieval-augmented generation, or vector databases.
- MLOps experience with MLflow, W&B, or CI/CD for models.
- Presales or estimation experience.
