Senior Java Engineer (High-Load & Real-Time Systems)

Location: Poland — Fully Remote

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, highly available, real-time Java applications for an advertising platform.
• Build efficient concurrent and asynchronous processing solutions.
• Investigate and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested production code.
• Contribute to technical decisions, engineering standards, and development best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics specialists while identifying technical gaps and operational problems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems.
• Strong command of Java 11 or newer, Java concurrency, multithreading, and asynchronous programming with CompletableFuture.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, software design principles, and performance optimization.
• Basic practical knowledge of high-load system design, scalability techniques, and Kafka.
• English at B2 level or higher and availability to work remotely from Poland.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed caching, SQL and NoSQL databases, AWS or other cloud platforms, and Big Data technologies.
• Experience in adtech, streaming, media, fintech, or another high-throughput domain.
