Java Technical Lead

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid model with three days per week in the office, or two days for a parent of a child up to four years old

What you will do

• Lead and develop a software team, including mentoring, training, career support, and participation in hiring.
• Own architecture discussions, design decisions, technical standards, and best practices.
• Design and develop distributed computing systems and business-critical low-code/no-code applications.
• Work with business users to address scalability, testability, security, and resiliency needs.
• Conduct code reviews, identify technical risks, and guide iterative improvements.
• Research technologies, maintain the department's technology stack, and support CI/CD automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in technology or equivalent professional experience.
• At least nine years of professional software engineering experience in backend or full-stack development.
• At least two years in a technology lead role responsible for system design, architecture, or application delivery.
• Proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems with Java technologies and working hands-on with development.
• Strong understanding of databases, web frameworks, enterprise integrations, queues, pub-sub, REST APIs, and microservice architecture.
• Core skills in Java, Spring, SQL, Hibernate, Kafka, CI/CD, and cloud technologies; familiarity with OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Exposure to reactive frontend technologies such as Angular.
• Experience working with Agile operating models.
