What you will do

• Develop core components for query engines, optimizers, storage layers, and distributed database systems.
• Implement relational operators, vectorized and compiled execution, resource scheduling, and cost-based optimization.
• Build storage capabilities including recovery, concurrent access, indexing, and data spilling.
• Design distributed algorithms for transaction protocols, data replication, and fault tolerance.
• Analyze open-source database products and academic research, then document and validate proposed designs through prototypes and cross-reviews.
• Share technical knowledge through blog posts and international conference talks.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Java and readiness to learn new languages and tooling.
• Solid understanding of foundational algorithms and data structures.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs against product goals.
• Ability to communicate in English in written and spoken form.
