ARC Support Engineer - L3 (Routing) (Juniper)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement to work 2 days per week from an HPE office.

What you will do

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of customer-reported issues across Juniper PTX and MX routing platforms.
• Isolate hardware and software problems, reproduce customer environments in a lab, and coordinate final fixes with engineering.
• Document communication between customers, engineering, and support teams while advocating for timely issue resolution.
• Build expertise in customer network topologies, configurations, features, and service history.
• Provide technical guidance during testing, deployment, and operations, and participate in customer reviews and network training.
• Create knowledge-base content, contribute to product development activities, and mentor newly hired support engineers and peers.

Requirements

• B.E. in Electronics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the networking industry.
• Thorough understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including IP technologies, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VLANs, BFD, STP, ARP, LACP, and multicast protocols.
• Strong knowledge of MPLS, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs, traffic engineering, LDP, RSVP, segment routing, and VPLS.
• Excellent verbal and written customer-handling and communication skills.
• Availability for weekend coverage according to a roster and pager rotation coverage.

Nice to have

• At least 7 years of extensive JUNOS experience or 7 years of troubleshooting data-center or enterprise core networks.
• Experience with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and Alcatel platforms, as well as Ixia or Agilent traffic generators.
• Knowledge of advanced multicast, data-center technologies such as MC-LAG, VxLAN, and EVPN, or Perl, Python, Unix, and Expect scripting.
• JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certification.
