Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom; occasional UK and international travel may be required.

Salary: Up to £55,000 basic per year, plus overtime and work-away allowances.

hirify.global is recruiting for an engineering team delivering complex electrical and multidisciplinary engineering projects.

What you will do

• Produce electrical engineering designs from concept through detailed design, including schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications, and project documentation.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials and ensure designs are safe, robust, and fit for purpose.
• Collaborate with mechanical, hydraulic, and control engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support design reviews, testing, installation, commissioning, and final project delivery.
• Manage assigned tasks against project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while identifying and mitigating risks.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, suppliers, and customers, including customer operation and maintenance documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, such as BEng or MEng.
• 2–5 years of experience in engineering design and development.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and solving complex engineering problems.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or Teamcenter.
• Understanding of engineering standards, design methods, technical documentation, electrical systems, and control technologies.
• Strong communication, teamwork, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in offshore, marine, subsea, lifting, or bespoke engineered equipment.
• Membership in a recognised engineering institution such as IET, or progress toward professional registration.
