Electrical Engineer (Low-Voltage Power Distribution)

Location: South Tyneside, United Kingdom. Right to work in the UK required.

Salary: Up to £55,000 basic per year plus benefits.

hirify.global is recruiting for an engineering role focused on bespoke low-voltage power distribution and switchgear solutions.

What you will do

• Develop detailed electrical designs and schematics for low-voltage switchgear systems.
• Produce functional design specifications for protection and control systems.
• Manage projects from design through installation and commissioning.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, contractors, manufacturing, installation, commercial, and internal project teams.
• Support and attend factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
• Prepare technical submissions, operating manuals, and maintenance documentation while monitoring budgets, timescales, risks, and progress.

Requirements

• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency with CAD packages such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP, SEE Electrical, or similar.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations, BS EN 61439, and related IEC standards.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Right to work in the UK.
