Electrical & Controls Technician (PLC/SCADA)

hirify.global is recruiting for a marine engineering team supporting vessel electrical, automation, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.

What you will do

• Design and develop electrical control systems, including PLC and SCADA applications.
• Produce functional design specifications and integrate electrical controls into wider engineering systems.
• Conduct testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis, routine maintenance, and system backups.
• Identify failure root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve equipment reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, manuals, and engineering documentation while supporting project planning, delivery, and handover.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and operational teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Experience with PLC programming platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar.
• Knowledge of SCADA and HMI systems, AC and DC motor drives, and electrical and control schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP, and other industrial communication protocols.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
