What you will do

• Develop and maintain PLC and HMI programs to control manufacturing processes and support equipment.
• Provide technical support for automation in the production of optical fibers and other cables, including rotating off-hours support.
• Inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and calibrate electronic instrumentation.
• Support the commissioning of new production equipment and ensure program backups are maintained per plant standards.
• Mentor electrical team members and refine facility processes regarding electrical safety and equipment efficiency.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering/Computer Science, Associate degree in Controls/Automation/Mechatronics, or 5 years of hands-on experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Compliance with safety procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 HSE guidelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Modicon, or Siemens PLCs.
• Proficiency in IEC languages including Ladder, Sequential function charts, Structured text, and Function Block Diagrams.
• Knowledge of Profibus, Ethernet, and Modbus+ communication protocols.
• Experience with SCADA software and servo drive or motion controller programming.
