Fixed Income Operations Analyst (Fixed Income)

What you will do

• Capture, validate, and match trades across government bonds, corporate bonds, floating rate notes, and money market instruments.
• Prepare settlement instructions and monitor settlements, investigating failed or delayed transactions.
• Perform daily cash and holdings reconciliations and resolve reconciliation breaks.
• Liaise with custodians, administrators, brokers, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor corporate actions, including coupon payments, maturities, repayments, redemptions, and early calls.
• Maintain security reference and market data, support portfolio queries, and improve operational processes and controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, economics, actuarial studies, accounting, business, mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Genuine interest in fixed income and financial markets.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, judgment, integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to learn systems quickly, manage competing deadlines, and proactively resolve issues with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of bonds, interest rates, and fixed income products.
• Knowledge of investment management or financial markets from coursework or internships.
• Exposure to portfolio management or investment systems.
• Previous internship or part-time experience in financial services.
