Senior Fullstack Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Latin America

What you will do

• Own product features end to end, from PostgreSQL schema design and backend implementation through frontend delivery and production monitoring.
• Design and maintain scalable event-driven and distributed systems with strong reliability and data-consistency guarantees.
• Build financial workflows and third-party integrations using webhooks, queues, retries, dead-letter queues, outbox patterns, and reconciliation.
• Develop responsive interfaces with React and Next.js.
• Improve architecture, scalability, observability, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence using tools such as Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Terraform, or Pulumi.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders, review code, mentor engineers, and support secure handling of sensitive transactional data.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience delivering production-ready full-stack applications end to end.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, with advanced React and Next.js experience.
• Deep PostgreSQL and database-engineering expertise, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance analysis.
• Experience designing event-driven, distributed, asynchronous, and fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience with financial, payment, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems and webhook-driven third-party integrations.
• Strong systems-thinking, communication, autonomy, and attention to edge cases and data integrity.

Nice to have

• Experience with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted coding platforms.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Pulumi.
• Observability experience with Datadog or OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with SOC2, PCI-DSS, regulated environments, or property-based testing with fast-check.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership initiatives.
