Director of Investor Research, Capital Markets

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 base salary per year, plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead analysis of originated asset performance and operational trends.
• Build and present strategic narratives for current and prospective investors.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for recurring and ad hoc investor reporting.
• Direct research into borrower creditworthiness and customer positioning within the macroeconomic landscape.
• Collaborate with Capital Markets Sales, Analytics, Underwriting, Servicing, and Product Management.
• Guide junior team members and synthesize findings for senior leadership and external investors.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
• 8–10 years of experience in banking, management consulting, or specialty finance.
• Experience presenting to institutional investors, credit facilities, or senior executives.
• Understanding of loan math, including CDR, CPR, and CNL.
• Strong knowledge of consumer finance, credit risk modeling, loan lifecycle, and performance metrics.
• Strong technical acumen in SQL, AI tools, and financial modeling; expert Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Tableau, Python, or Databricks.
