Software Development Engineer (Network Fabric Engineering)

What you will do

• Build software services that deploy and scale the networks supporting AWS, customers, and other business units across global data centers.
• Design and deliver high-quality, extensible code for production distributed systems.
• Improve network performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot network issues and manage customers during problem resolution.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to critical operational events.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across software, hardware, network, security, and operations teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming experience in at least one software programming language.
• Experience working in a Linux or Unix environment.
• Experience with production-quality software services, distributed systems, and the full software development life cycle.
• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
