Senior Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support enterprise-grade Go applications and integration services across the full software development lifecycle.
• Build scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions for OSS platforms.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, maintainability, security, testing, and code quality.
• Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering decisions while mentoring engineers.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex business and operational challenges.

Requirements

• 7–8 years of commercial experience developing and deploying Go applications.
• End-to-end ownership of production-grade software solutions.
• Deep expertise in Go, APIs, microservices, concurrent processing, design patterns, performance optimisation, testing, and code quality.
• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka, event-driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to mentor others and influence technical direction.
