Senior Cloud Architect (Cloud)

Location: Remote within the United States; foreign locations and IP addresses are restricted, and personal VPN connections are prohibited. The role is based in Reston, Virginia, and requires U.S. citizenship.

Salary: $144,381–$245,448 annually, based on full-time employment.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise architecture, platform integration, product engineering, and application modernization across a complex federal technology environment.
• Define architecture standards, reference patterns, integration approaches, and governance guardrails for cloud, SaaS, platforms, and applications.
• Design integrations using APIs, SDKs, webhooks, event streams, serverless functions, workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
• Guide product delivery and sustainment through requirements, solution design, backlog refinement, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Incorporate Zero Trust, access controls, logging, monitoring, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements into solution delivery.
• Lead architecture reviews, modernization planning, technical debt reduction, release planning, documentation, and stakeholder recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance are required.
• 15+ years of experience leading enterprise architecture, systems integration, platform engineering, application modernization, or product engineering.
• At least one active cloud, enterprise architecture, security, or IT service management certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, CISSP, Security+, or ITIL Foundation.
• Experience with cloud platforms, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and infrastructure-as-code or similar automation practices.
• Experience with secure enterprise architectures, Zero Trust, identity-aware access, federal compliance frameworks, SaaS platforms, product delivery, and technical governance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal or regulated technology programs, especially HHS, NIH, FDA, CMS, CDC, or other health-focused environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, ALM, and governance.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SharePoint, Teams, Slack, GitHub, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Adobe, DocuSign, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Additional cloud, security, Agile, ITIL, DevSecOps, Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, or enterprise architecture certifications.
