Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner, Urgent Care

Location: Remote within the United States; active RN compact and multi-state licensure required. Weeknight and alternating weekend shifts are scheduled between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the clinician’s time zone.

What you will do

• Conduct age-appropriate histories and virtual examinations for newborn, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute, chronic, and mental health conditions across the lifespan.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and create timely, accurate treatment plans.
• Request consultations and referrals when clinically appropriate.
• Counsel patients and families on treatment plans and evidence-based care.
• Provide cross-coverage, including reviewing laboratory results.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Master’s- or Doctoral-level Family Nurse Practitioner program and accredited nursing school.
• Active NP and RN licensure, active RN compact license, and active multi-state licensure required.
• Current AANP or ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
• At least 3 years of post-training experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings.
• Experience treating newborns through adults, managing a broad range of conditions, and working within an integrated medical practice.
• Active Medicare status and good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and federal health programs; proficiency with technology and electronic medical records.

Nice to have

• Five or more active licenses.
• Prior telemedicine or video-based virtual care experience.
• Experience with Athena EMR.

Culture & Benefits

• Modified full-time schedule of 30 hours per week or 60 hours per pay period.
• Weeknight 8-hour shifts and two 8-hour weekend shifts every other weekend.
• Shift scheduling is managed by the clinical team, with personal preferences considered where possible.
• Final hours and shift times are confirmed several weeks before the start date.
