Senior IAM Engineer II (AI)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid work. The listed salary ranges also reference New York and other location-based variations.

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 for Illinois; $150,000–$200,000 for New York.

What you will do

• Design and scale the Okta tenant, including SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 integrations.
• Build automated joiner, mover, and leaver lifecycle flows with Okta Workflows across HRIS, Active Directory, and SaaS applications.
• Manage synchronization between Active Directory and cloud identity providers.
• Develop REST API integrations for internal and unsupported applications.
• Implement adaptive MFA, passwordless strategies, access certifications, and identity security controls.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex authentication issues and identity-related security incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of enterprise-scale Okta administration experience, including Okta Workflows and Okta Expression Language.
• Deep expertise in SAML 2.0, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SCIM.
• Strong Active Directory experience, including Group Policy, Kerberos, DNS, and cloud synchronization.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript for API integrations and automation.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and least-privilege principles.
• Ability to work in the Chicago hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Okta Certified Professional, Administrator, or Consultant certification.
• Terraform experience for managing Okta resources.
• Experience with Privileged Access Management or Identity Governance and Administration tools.
• Knowledge of FIDO2 or passkeys.
