Associate Infrastructure Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote-first in the United States or British Columbia and Ontario, Canada

Salary: USD 140,000–190,000 annually in the United States; CAD 173,000–207,000 annually in Ontario and British Columbia, depending on geographic zone and qualifications.

What you will do

• Maintain monitoring tooling and collaborate on observability best practices so engineering teams can operate their services effectively.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance of applications running on Kubernetes.
• Optimize resource allocation and streamline Kubernetes upgrade processes.
• Read and modify Node, Python, or Go application code to investigate and fix production issues.
• Support customers using hirify.global services in production by collaborating with Customer Support, Partnerships, and Sales.
• Participate in and improve on-call and incident response processes.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience operating or debugging distributed systems in production.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes workloads.
• Experience using observability tools to create dashboards, alerts, or traces and debug production issues.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible, plus willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Exposure to GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Argo Rollouts.
• Background in operations with growing interest in software development, or software engineering with growing interest in systems and infrastructure.
• Proactive adoption of AI and emerging technologies.
