Director of Engineering (AI & Logistics)

Salary: $268,600–$395,000 USD base salary per year, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Lead a multidisciplinary logistics organization of 100+ engineers across backend, mobile, machine learning, and operations research.
• Define the engineering strategy for a unified, scalable AI and optimization platform.
• Architect real-time decision engines for vehicle routing, assignment, pricing, dispatching, ETAs, and supply-demand balancing.
• Build production-grade machine learning platforms with feature stores, low-latency model serving, and backtesting frameworks.
• Scale distributed infrastructure to support millions of concurrent requests while maintaining five-nines reliability.
• Partner with business, product, and data science leaders to establish technical roadmaps and business-critical priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years leading engineering managers and multiple teams.
• Deep experience with large-scale distributed systems, machine learning, and mathematical optimization.
• Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations through hypergrowth and reorganizations.
• Ability to define multi-quarter technical roadmaps and make high-stakes architectural decisions.
• Experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineering leaders while maintaining high engineering standards.
