CMM Operator

What you will do

• Develop, validate, and maintain CMM inspection programs for new and existing parts using engineering models, drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Operate CMM equipment for first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts and assemblies.
• Perform manual dimensional inspections with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators.
• Generate and review inspection reports and communicate dimensional results to manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with machinists, NC programmers, engineers, and build reliability personnel to resolve nonconformances and improve manufacturing processes.
• Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, inspection plans, quality documentation, and metrology equipment calibration.

Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Experience with CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with manual inspection tools, dimensional metrology techniques, inspection reporting, and data validation.
• Ability to work on-site with frequent standing, walking, and movement in a machine shop, including lifting parts and tooling up to 30 pounds.
