Staff Commissioning Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Dallas, TX, US (Remote); willingness to travel to project sites is required, with 75% travel

Salary: $136,000–$165,000 per year plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

• Own commissioning activities across assigned data center projects from factory witness testing through integrated systems testing and formal turnover.
• Serve as the on-site electrical subject matter expert and primary escalation point for technical commissioning issues.
• Oversee third-party commissioning agents, vendors, testing activities, deliverables, and performance against scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, O&M documentation, commissioning plans, L2–L5 test scripts, reports, and turnover packages.
• Drive quality control, issue tracking, troubleshooting, remediation, and formal closure across static and dynamic testing phases.
• Coordinate construction, engineering, controls, operations, procurement, and vendors, while supporting operational transition, training, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; equivalent commissioning experience may be considered.
• Deep knowledge of L1–L5 commissioning levels, documentation, and testing requirements.
• Hands-on experience with data center power distribution and EPMS infrastructure.
• Experience managing third-party commissioning agents and interpreting construction drawings, single-line diagrams, submittals, and test procedures.
• Must be willing to travel to project sites as required; expected travel is 75%.
